This is fucking amazing engineering! Smart people doing amazing things is so inspiring. Good for Bezos taking some of that wealth and investing it in such a fascinating project.

I’m 247.5 Oreo Cookies tall, that is many more Oreos than most, but not as many as some.
Thanks! My wife is a Soldier. We sometimes have interesting conversations about stuff like this.
Truly a tragedy when people cannot live their lives because of fear.
Our government has completely lost its way. The Founders would be both appalled and ashamed.
My ex and I saw Rob Roy in the theater together. She has never been able to watch Tim Roth since that film.
If there had been an earlier interdiction, I’m reasonably certain the Nazi’s Final Solution would not have come to fruition. Or been stopped far earlier than D-Day. I’m pretty sure Senator Graham’s argument is exactly that.
I don’t think so. My father was in the RAF during the war. Bombed by the Germans and shot at by the Japanese. He is also the reason I’m a pacifist.
His brother-in-law was part of the BEF, that was rescued at Dunkirk.
Neither of them were particularly chatty about the war.
I think that for those that faced the horror of the war, almost all of them would have preferred not to have to endure that brutality. If an earlier intervention with Hitler could have prevented D-Day, I think most veterans of that conflict would be all for it.
I can’t stand President Biden. I wouldn’t vote for him if he were the last candidate on earth. But, really? This man is the President, and you couldn’t do him the courtesy of sitting quietly and listening to what he has to say?
That behavior is beyond my comprehension.
The most Presidential of all our former Presidents. I will shed tears at his passing.
I was the first Red Hat Certified Engineer in the state of Oregon.
I hope you read Radley Balko. He has done so much to expose the fraud of things like bite marks and other shit done by MEs.
I won’t be retiring. Not particularly good with money, plus a divorce, I’m 60, and have about 200K in retirement. It’s my own fault, I could have been far smarter. Now was always far more important than then.
This relationship can be saved as long as the guy’s wife does not start expressing an interest in Emacs. That would, of course, put an end to the relationship, but if she’s one of those “Notepad is all I need” types, there is hope this can be worked through.
My wife was in the Fort Knox Honor Guard for just over a year. Her stint ended when she went Warrant, definitely one of the things she missed must about being an NCO.
Current base 10k blocks from spawn. I’m quite happy there.
Always easy to tell when people are commenting in bad faith.
For everyone. I give no fucks who you are, live your life as you see fit.
This is really a great statement. There are many extraordinary people of faith, I am blessed to have some of them as friends. Unhappily, there are many horrible people of faith, and they give the good ones a bad name.
Worship how you see fit, just don’t demand the rest of us subscribe to your world view.
Does any anyone know the actual accusations? There’s no meat here just the allegation. How was his DD-214 altered? What service did he ascribe to himself? What awards. As the husband of a Soldier, these things are important.
Edit to add: they really need to update their stock photo, the Army hasn’t worn that uniform in years.
