This isn’t a case of a streamer talking to a viewer through chat. This is a case of an adult private messaging with a minor in a self admittedly “inappropriate” manner. Doc might have said after the fact that he didn’t “intend” on following through with his messages, but when an adult, even jokingly, is making plans to meet up with a fan at a convention who is a minor, that’s a BIG red flag.

Twitch had no choice but to ban him. What if they did nothing and he did end up meeting up with them? What if it turned into SA allegations and it was found out that Twitch was aware of this? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want my kids talking to an adult over private messages full stop. Let alone if the content was “inappropriate”.

If you’re a 40 y/o texting “inappropriate” things to a minor, you should have your twitch contract cancelled too.

The tl;dr of that article isn’t even “no”. It provides both sides of the accounts and references academics that argue both ways.

I read it to make the same argument you did, but ended up considering it a surprisingly well written article.

1. These were recontact polls. So these were people who were already polled, presumably a small percentage changing their minds.
2. These were multiple pills across different organizations running them. So while they can be within the margin of error, they all saw the same trend.

Obviously you can’t go by polls, and there’s a ton of time between now and Nov, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Switching from Twitch to Kick is like leaving Twitter for Truth Social. Kick was started by people who were kicked off Twitch for gambling and other banned content. And I don’t just mean poker, I’m talking about those skin gambling sites where streamers were found “promoting” but really owned and were rigging their bets to make it look like you can win big.

Plus Kick’s backend uses the same Amazon services that Twitch does, so if your point is not to support Twitch and their parent company Amazon, Kick definitely isn’t the right choice.

To be fair, it’s more like that annoying friend who babbles on and on about what they think is going to happen. They’re never quite sure, and are always changing their mind as the movie keeps going.

Or you know, at no point did you actually engage in discussion. You used a false equivalent and rhetoric. Which is pretty much the textbook definition of a bad faith argument.

Ahh I get it. So you’re 100% the person I was talking about in my first post.

As long as you understand that not voting for Biden is 100% a vote for Trump (whether you cast a ballot or not) and you’re OK with that, then more power to you.

But I would ask, what do you think you’re achieving by not voting for him? If you voted for him in 2020 then you must hold personal ideals that at least semi-align with his, and you have to know that Trump’s are a complete 180 from them.

I’d also like to ask (since you imply you haven’t made up your mind) what Biden could do to change your mind?

I suspect a lot of those people are arguing in bad faith and are actually spreading misinformation. That they never intended on voting for Biden, or always intended on voting for Trump and trying to make it seem like Biden is losing his base.

IRL, most people I know, while not happy with Biden’s response acknowledge that Trump’s view is much much worse.

I mean, if those Indians would just go back to their own county, we wouldn’t have this problem.
