I speak from experience that no one other than professionals should be handling their own mail servers in 2024. I worked for a mail host. The amount of spam and attacks that befall a mail provider, even a small one, is bonkers. Plus, mail is just too damn important.
I wish it wasn’t the case because the idea of everyone privately hosting their own mail servers would be pretty awesome. Sadly the modern internet makes it way too risky.
Infected Mushroom. They have a sound unlike anything I’ve heard anywhere else. I recommend the album Army of Mushrooms to newcomers, but their entire collection is solid.
Also The Program on Netflix. It’s a really well put together documentary made by one of the students at a similar school.
I watch this every time it’s posted. Might be my favorite from them.

Cars and computers.
Cars and racing fascinate me because the engineering that goes into making a car handle well at high speed is insanely intricate. Plus track design can have a massive effect on a race. There’s just so much to think about and so many different cars and disciplines out there that it’s pretty much endless.
Similarly, computers have so much to learn about them. I could learn about them 24/7 my whole life and still not know everything about them. They’re a massive testament to human ingenuity and are such a core part of society, I’m glad I’m lucky enough to be alive at this point in technology.

I think about how many times things like this happen to individuals that don’t have the weight to warrant an article where their entire collection of online data just gets wiped out and Google responds with: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Somewhat surprisingly, I’m not able to quickly find someone doing it on YouTube, but it’s the puzzle where there’s a cube propping open a wall panel where Ratman was. There’s several cameras in there. If you take all of the cameras and your cube, you can basically make some janky stairs and climb your way up to the next section.
Cut deletes if you don’t paste after.
There is a puzzle in the original Portal that you can solve by stacking up a bunch of cameras. For the longest time, I had always done this and never attempted to properly solve the puzzle.
This could actually work if they go the way of the Need for Speed movie and try not to directly tie it to any one game’s storyline. Absolute banger of a game universe with plenty of potential for fun.

While I agree it’s the better headset, the $800 price difference and the requirement for an attached gaming computer, make it easy to see why the Quest gets the attention it does.
The closest thing I’ve found to an in-between is the Pico 4 at ~$450 and doesn’t require any accounts. The game library is quite limited, so it’s not a full replacement for the Quest, but it can connect wired or wireless to a dedicated PC. Newegg seems to be the best US supplier for them.

Dang. I thought I was the only person who had ever heard of this one. Might have to boot it up in an emulator one of these days and give it a go.
