Fair use once it’s posted on the web? Thank you very much for the framework to pirate anything and everything.
I watched clips of her on late night shows before I tried getting into any of her standup. Her standup is very dry and deadpan. I haven’t seen her TV show of the fictionalized account of her and her wife getting together, doesn’t really sound like my jam.
To me, she is the epitome of “don’t need a lot of formal education to be wicked smart”.
Woof, first dozen web search hits are about sexual misconduct. Maybe not.
I’ve been watching clips of Tig Notaro standup lately. I think her smack talk would go over Trump’s head (most does that is anything beyond anatomical or golf related, tbf) but I would enjoy her deadpan zingers.
Real answer is any seasoned politician under 60 should be able to talk circles around him. Both sounded bad last night, Trump’s only win was in comparison to Biden’s energy level.
That is not a simple question. My life is what it is because I live in America. I am not driven to move elsewhere.
But America is far from what I want it to be. Last night’s debate was a good example. I am so baffled that those two are who we have decided should have power.
Work (for work) and the public library (for personal use).
Someone spilled to me that a person I don’t particularly like is being investigated by HR for things that correlate to the reasons I don’t like them. While I’m satisfied he may finally be held accountable, I’m irritated it’s taken this long and that I have to know it us in process. Waiting for the outcome. Waiting for them to possibly decide to do nothing. I didn’t ask for this secret and I don’t want to hold it.
No problem. Pretty sure I got the idea from someone here on Lemmy. Look at that, it’s already been more useful to me than reddit.
Oh, yeah, those are crap. I went with scrub brush attachments for the battery-powered drill I already own. It cost like $20 for half a dozen heads of different sizes that chuck up like any normal drill bit. It’s not as automated, but it’s way easier and more thorough than scrubbing by hand.
Over. The end is most likely to be visible at all times.
And when adult labor dries up, you see Chik-Fil-A running a “summer camp” that puts grade school kids to work without pay. And 11 states working to make more child labor legal. And states trimming unemployment to attempt to force people into these shit jobs after they quit them during pandemic years.
Disorganized protest is not going to cut it. Me not tipping a bartender does absolutely nothing against the intentional machine built and reinforced at local, state, and federal level over generations.
If someone wants to take a local boycott action, they should stop going to bars and restaurants with a tipping structure. Then the loss is felt by the bar. Otherwise, the patron is getting their food/drinks, the bar makes their money, and the only party hurt is the wait staff reliant on tips.
Don’t try to out “America’s labor system sucks” me. I live here.
Classic didn’t pick up on when they were flirting, only figured it out right before they moved halfway across the world.
Any sort of “my husband/wife/spouse is lazy/a nag/useless” or from the opposite perspective “I’m lazy/a nag/useless, I’m so lucky my husband/wife/spouse is a sucker and puts up with my bumbling incompetence”.
Tips are stupid, but it’s the system we live in. Knowing that and going to a bar and not tipping hurts the bartender, not the bar.

I bartended on the side. I finally gave it up mid-covid because the extra money I was earning didn’t outweigh the exposure to sick people and people with deteriorating social skills.
The number of people who thought a server in the middle of a pandemic deserved less pay and more grief truly astounded me. Like bruh, I’m not here serving your drunk ass in the middle of covid for my enjoyment. Tip or I will prioritize every possible person at the bar before you.
I got into that latest bartending job because I had free time, I wanted a bit more money every month, and I’m decent at it from previous experience.

My keys, which is the reason I got a cheap detector. I haven’t used it since, but have loaned it out a couple times for other people looking for their keys.
A small child nicked my keys and dropped them somewhere in a large field. A detector was cheaper than a new electronic key for my car.
