The issue is that when you make something as simple as a daily coffee a moral issue then you can open up very small amounts to mockery. They’re not trying to help, they’re trying to make it so it’s not their fault that all you can afford is over-inflated rent and rising food prices. They want any savings to go to them, not to us.

They give us raises worth less than even just the inflation of the previous year and then when we speak out they turn it into a moral issue. That money can go into paying for free healthcare and education, the IRS to make sure all the other parasites pay their due(every dollar put into that organization leads to a positive return), and a host of other things that end up providing a huge gain for people. None of that is to mention that of the 86mil customers there are many who don’t need the extra money so we can push more down to the poorer of the bunch.

Look if we can’t even buy a coffee then what is honestly the fucking point? My dad will help literally anyone who asks him directly or is even just the friend of a person he knows. He’ll just hand them things he owns or set aside time or just give them free whatever. When he was a manager of a team for a time he was super progressive about it telling his team to take care of themselves while still overworking himself so it’s not like he’s a default “fuck corporate” guy or anything.

Ask him to pay taxes, though, and he suddenly goes full conservative. Tell him it’s hard for servers and he’ll say they should get a better job. Mention arts degrees and he’ll say that’s why education shouldn’t be free. It’s the weirdest fuckin’ thing.

The good people would probably either not want to waste their time hurting people or they would get tired of it very quickly(we ain’t all perfect). Like if Trump died I’d be elated but it’s because he would no longer be poisoning the world with his presence and not because I personally want to beat his face in for eternity.

To be honest I think the hell I would want for these people would be a forced injection of critical thinking skills and empathy, with mandatory classes on all of the harm they did, so they could ultimately be their own punishment. At that point the most participation I would want would be my turn explaining how they people hurt me and the people I care about.

I remember, and maybe I misunderstood, when he was up against Biden last time and the biggest issue he had was that Elizabeth Warren’s similar message split votes. She was clearly losing but for some reason stayed in and siphoned votes away from him just long enough for him to back out.

More people wanted either Sanders or Warren than wanted Biden but ya’ll ended up with Biden. We have the same problem here in Canada where more vastly more people hate the Conservatives than support them and yet that party always ends up dangerously close to gaining power.

My dad blames our Prime Minister for inflation as if it’s not a global crisis and as if Canada isn’t among the top ten countries in the world when it comes to mitigating the effects of inflation.

It probably does, but I’m just not sure for how long. It’s a lot of force placed in very awkward places. You would need high tolerances so the slop won’t be magnified towards the other end and the leverage would also mean that any imperfection(easy to pick up since the mechanism in unshieldable and on the rim) would very quickly reduce those tolerances to a cheap joke.

When two workers started working from home I heard a manager say “how am I supposed to know they’re getting work done?” as if he couldn’t see the results all appear on the server. And he never even really spoke to them when they were in the office anyway! Meanwhile I’m a “hard worker” while in my office watching four hours of Critical Role a day bored out of my skull because I finished all the work already. I tried to get more to do but my direct manager/senior coworker was too paranoid to let me touch anything else even though he was insanely overworked.

Oh and the dipshit manager spent at least an hour if his day talking conservative nonsense with another employee. Like, bro, get a fucking clue.

Oil and gas companies have already made themselves enemies of the planet and everyone on it so honestly they can fuck right off.

And that’s exactly it. Capitalism rewards having money and how you get it isn’t important. It doesn’t breed technological innovation but it sure as shit pumps out new, fun ways to spew propoganda and avoid laws! And oh boy is paying employees well not even close to a metric by which to measure a successful company.
