The battlefield isn’t even being faught on the Ukrainian side using the most cutting edge of Western technology and you want to keep fighting? Holy shit.

Republicans I know: “Gas is too high and it’s Bidens fault!”
Me: “Actually, 203 Republicans voted against a bill to stop predatory gas prices and 0 voted to support it.”
Republicans I know: “Cause it’s too expensive to enforce. We all know it’s another govt law to hold over us.”
Fucking idiots.
This isn’t happening in factories. This is happening in situations where someone is remodeling so none of those guys can afford fancy machinery. They usually cut/fit/sand on site.
I absolutely love the enthusiasm for required regulations in this thread but everyone is missing one critical aspect… illegal workers are probably a huge part of those impacted by this. Many of these “companies” who cut counters work through subcontractors and I bet the majority of these are just a guy with an LLC. I would love to see more numbers on the type of worker/businesses being hit with this illness.
Dresden would approve.
I am the lead on a team of 5 and technically we have an on call rotation but it is rarely used. In the last 3 years I have been called after hours a total of 4 times and TBH it was usually due to an AWS outage which resulted in us saying well let's see how long it takes for them to o restore services and then someone run a safety check to make sure shit is normal.
For that I make $120k, have unlimited PTO, and work from home.
It worked for The last of Us and Spiderman. Optimization through exclusivity allows the publishers to spend less time chasing down random bugs and rendering issues.
Came to say this. I enjoy hunting and outdoor activities so I have a multitude of gear. What I use depends on where I am going, who is going with me, and what activities we plan on doing. Such as:
30ft Toy Hauler Camper
UTV and flatbed trailer
Truck bed Tent
Tents of various sizes and various types of climates
Sleeping bags for various climates
Hiking/Hunting clothes and shoes for various climates
Binos and Spotting scopes of various styles
Backpacks… So many backpacks
Rifles of various calibers for hunting different game and environments and various fishing poles
Lifejackets, paddle boards, and kayaks
Legally yes. But you have to prove they didn’t simply misplace the funds. Democracy is great and I love it. However, the fact remains you can’t report something you don’t have documentation on.
The Pentagon does know where there money goes but they are never going to tell a committee of idiots who cannot keep a damn thing secret. If you can’t trust even the President to not run his mouth or expose classified satellite capabilities to our enemies then why would they ever tell anyone in politics where that money is going? I want a transparent govt as much as the next person but it isn’t going to happen.
Simply based off of his track history of not paying his debts I wouldn’t take on a single contract or loan with this person. We have a local business owner who doesn’t pay his contractors. It’s well known locally so he always has to hire out of county to get work done because everyone knows he will screw you over. Trump is no different.
I know 2 people who wrote COBOL code for some major healthcare systems a long time ago and they came out of retirement about 5 years ago to update/convert that code. They made six figure salaries working from home to update that code.
I use Windows for work and gaming, MacOS for app development (mostly because I can code for iOS and Android in one environment), and ChromeOS for my daily browsing.
I just enjoy how chrome always works when I need to just browse the internet or buy something online without issue.
When I worked as a IT Tech at a University years ago we had a lot of MacOS users who believed they could just pick it up and use it like their iPhone. It was absurd how well their marketing worked because those users either forced themselves to learn it or dropped it and went back to Windows.
I know a lot of iOS users who have iPads and iPhones but still have windows PCs because they don’t have to worry about compatibility issues.
I think it’s more about how those types of buyers view the manufacturers reliability long term. The man is unhinged and has proven with Twitter that if given the chance he will willingly fuck over users. Imagine giving a bully the ability to limit your driving range or disabling your vehicle on a whim because he decides he doesn’t like you or what your local govt says.
Not saying he would do it but he has proven repeatedly to be unstable enough to believe he could escape punishment for doing it.
It’s a little rough to read in the beginning. You can clearly see Cook struggling to find his voice in writing. The story is great and the writing does improve.
EDIT: Just saw your username. I am eagerly awaiting the next Dresden novel also.
Just started another run through of The Black Company books.
Those are super easy to fix. Even the Google eraser could fix those easily.
I have lived in the desert my whole life. So I guess I’m an expert now. I can tell you that it’s hot as fuck and it can still kill me. No amount of planned “exposure” is going to prevent dehydration or heat exhaustion.
He's a callous shitbag is why. That's the correct answer. It has nothing to do with some deep thought on how the US exploits people, etc. It's a response he gave because he doesn't respect people regardless of whether they are dead or alive. The only people he respects are those in power.
