It was over 410:1 when I started a job in 2012. My company may have been an outlier :/ I hope it improves
FML you’re right :( just saw this pop up in a news feed. Party of law and order at work
My favorite part about the aftermath of this is that Convicted Felon Trump won’t be able to vote for himself in the election 🥰
You’re totally right. For some reason I (mis)remembered it only being in the EU while the US was excluded. I found the form on Nintendo’s website and will look into that later.
For real :[ unfortunate circumstances and a very unfortunate outcome. For all the memes and lols this created, I hope he’s doing well
That’s fair. It’s the double-edged sword of internet stardom. To me it’s about remembering a simpler time then the world was less of a mess than it is today.
I post a reminder in a group chat with my friends every year. Someone today asked how the hell I remember it and I told them it’s in my calendar
Unfortunately, that’s not available in the US :(
It sure would be a shame if you bought new, identical Joy-Con controllers, found they didn’t have drift, and returned the old drifty ones by accident.
5/28 Ninja Edit: today I learned is a form on Nintendo’s website where you can fill out a repair request form. I thought the US had been excluded https://repair.nintendo.com/cc/soConsumer.html?lang=en&sys=SWTCH&type=JOY-CON
This idea is called a “Third Place”. Your first place is home, the second place is work, and the third place is another place that isn’t the first 2. There used to be more of these like malls, plazas, parks, and others. In the last few decades, these places have gone away, had funding cut, or otherwise died. And like OP is saying, there are places that have been created to fill this gap, but they have been monetized :(
I realized that I treated Reddit as a third place. It was somewhere I felt like a community existed that I could talk to people and just hang out. It wouldn’t surprise me if people felt the same about Tik Tok or Facebook. So when one of those places is threatening to leave, it makes sense they feel there will be a void created.
Not sure what a good solution would be as this is a complicated issue.
3D TV. It was so cool. Games actually had heads up displays. Movies were especially immersive. So much potential for development. But people didn’t like wearing glasses to use it :(
I’m pretty stoked this came up in my feed today. I was actually one of the players in that campaign! We played in a small, virtual group during Covid. I sent this thread to Garlic~
The coffee shops weren’t a big part of the campaign, but it was definitely a recurring theme. He did a great job world-building and there were backstory elements he added in for us. I did miss the Starbucks reference until it came up and I echo the collective groan we had. There were other puns and fun adventures we had in the campaign.
