Real skeptical about the government collecting data on minority groups of any kind, especially when connected with address and other identifying information.
I understand the government needs that data appropriately assigned resources to assist those groups, but that assumes that government will solely act benevolently towards those groups and I am not so trusting about that.
It’s too soon to collect this data. We have too many extremists in government to trust it with this responsibility.

They can already get more information about you then you know about yourself.
That would destroy the reputation of Census and violate many laws. Won’t happen.
I hope you’re right. I used to feel the same about the Supreme Court and I lost a lot of confidence in it recently.

I’m not to keen on giving it now. One election gone wrong and some very unsavory people who mean lgbt individuals harm now have all that info.
Pretty much, not ten years ago I would’ve thought this was amazing and daydreamed about how much cool shit we could learn from a dataset like that, but today I’d be worried about giving anything potentially objectionable to the fundamentalist wing and I’m a straight white cis man. But I’m also on the far left and an outspoken anti-theist that doesn’t want to start a family so they might actually get to hunting me down pretty early
