While I personally disagree, I think this is why a lot of people have an alternate reading order, book 1 is apparently seen as worse written, and harder to get into than whatever the alternative starts with. Again, I don’t personally agree and read from book 1 both times I inhaled my favorite series, but I wanted to mention it ;)

I guess I’ll check out the alternative reading order. Although six times is a heck of a lot of chances to give a series.
You seem to want to like it, I’d never give a book 6 chances, 2 is already an extreme case for me :D good luck ;)
So many people have praised it that I feel like I’m missing something, so I keep trying again whenever I don’t know which book to read next.
