My understanding of the situation is that they do not have the manpower to do all of the following at the same time:

    • Prevent incursions on other borders from Hezbollah, ISIL, and other Iranian proxies
    • Cordon off sections of Gaza one at a time
    • Sweep every cordoned off building, block, etc for Hamas
    • Be ready to repel an actual invasion by Hezbollah, Iran, etc

If say Hamas was in an Israeli hospital…

Hamas is the elected government of Palestine. I think a better analogy for what you’re going for would be something like “if Israel was launching rockets indiscriminately at Palestine from an Israeli hospital, would the government of Palestine be justified in attacking the hospital?” My answer to that would be YES. There’s a reason why every civilized nation in the world has agreed to this as part of the “rules of war”. If you allow people to use civilians as human shields, then it becomes an effective tactic and more groups will do it.

Let me know when you have a better solution than "let terrorists do whatever the fuck they want.

      There’s a gaping chasm

“let terrorists do whatever the fuck they want.”

      and

      “genocide it is, then”

Particularly when the more accurate framing would be

“oh no - the terrorist group we backed over the PLO predictably attacked us as we maintained Palestine as an open air concentration camp, spouting genocidal rhetoric - guess we’ll have to kill 'em all”.
